life can be stressful. news is sometimes hard to listen to. there’s work, there’s safety, there is so many things for big people to worry about, fight about, fight for, get preoccupied with. i’m committed to being a good mommy, and by that I mean, being present for their perspective, taking in their world view. making time for play….laughter and lightness. affirm in them their utter preciousness. big people worries sometimes challenge my skillset.
Life is playfulness….we need to play so that we can rediscover the magic all around us Flora Colao
picture via today’s flak photo it’s the freckles, the cool textured nature of the shot, and the innocence of their illustrative boyish energy, seems pure, which I long to protect (new mommy dreams, ok).
Toyland! Toyland! Dear little girl and boyland; While you dream within it you are ever happy there. Childhood’s joyland, Mystical merry Toyland! Once you find its borders You can always return again.
I wanted to pop in and say hello. The weather is warm and clear in the bay area. Life has settled down a bit, but realistically, scattered I’ll be until I am not. Making friends with that fact is my ongoing challenge.
Please pop over for some Wednesday Wisdom from That Unreliable Girl, a blog I have fallen in love with. Frankly, I have never found her to be the least bit unreliable. She’s just dazzling good fun and warm hearted too.
My mom is coming to visit for a few days. AJ and G were cheering this morning for their Nana is coming to play.

Everyone has been sick in our household. It started last week with ear infections and turned into a huge run with the stomach flu…it was fast and furious and we all got sick. G and AJ are doing much better. Tay came for Easter and ended up catching it.
It’s been a long time since I’ve been this sick. Boyfriend (my husband) even went down for the count and he NEVER gets sick.
I hope everyone is doing well, and I promise to be back soon to resume sharing with you.

This week has been chalk full of design work, which is really good for my soul. I haven’t had a chance to post any of the ideas that are jotted down neatly in my mind, which by the way, is a very orderly place……… April fools (better late than never). I found myself wanting to be here nonetheless. Here a little photo I took on my walk back from a design consult in the city. I love the look of the old, especially when it’s well preserved, made with leather and metal. Oh, and anything with a basket deserves a second glance. I adore teal and burnt orange in combination, and the polished chrome frame adorns these colors well. This lil guy resting against the warm copper seemed to have a story to tell, a story I wanted to hear.
I’d love to hear what you are drawn to? Please share, if you are so inclined. It really does brighten my day to have you share with me…here.
